Basically an Autoresponder, also known as autobot,  is a tool used to send a set of prewritten messages via email. This allows a business to send out a prepared message when someone inquires about your products or services.
It helps give the impression that you care about customer service and are at their disposal. An autoresponder can also be used to sent several email messages at preset intervals to your prospects.
Example: Message #1 is sent instantly, Message #2 is sent 2 days later, Message #3 5 days later, etc. All the messages are sent out automatically.
